My Next Project

1957 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe Deville

Straight from the barnyard and into my garage. This Caddy sat in the field since 1988 and I am amazed at how well it weathered the years.

After scooping off about a foot of pine needles from the rear glass and deck lid, it was only surface rust. I opened the trunk and found water sitting in the spare tire valley. Was not rusted through. Up front, I inspected the eyebrows and could not believe how solid they were. Typical rockers, infront of rear tire panel, and rear bumper caps are rusted. Doors open and close solid... all glass still in great shape... all molding and stainless still present and in great shape. Even the badges are all there (if you need any stinking badges). Interior... well, it's there.

She is pink with light blue interior... but will not stay that way! A stroke of luck was the tubes in the tires and they aired right up helping us pull the Caddy from the shallow grave she settled into over the years. Here she is on the truck once loaded.

Once I got her put in the garage, I took these 'before' pictures to remind me of what whe looked like. Hope you will come back and watch the progress. I will post links below as I did with the '68 Firebird project. Hope you enjoy!

After getting her home, I was a little disappointed to see how bad off she really was. There's not enough there to 'restore' (cost vs. return), so...

I plan to chop it, drop it, fin it, and spin it!
